Near Florence there is this magnificent castle, part of a picturesque ancient hamlet overlooking the Arno valley from an upland.
The origin of this charming place in the heart of Tuscany is lost in history but can be traced back to the Etruscans, the hamlet was very relevant during the centuries for its strategic position dominating the surrounding lands.
The tower house still existing today has medieval origins and was owned by important noble families and monastic orders. The several crosses carved on the walls of the hamlet are a sign of the link between this ancient estate and the crusaders.
This magnificent castle in Florence is currently used as a tourist accommodation facility and is divided into typical, Tuscan rustic style apartments located on the farm or in the hamlet.
The castle is spread over five levels and, thanks to some careful renovation works, is in excellent conditions and can be admired in all its splendor.
